A Lasting Friendship!

I have had the busiest weeks to top all busiest weeks.  Not only did we have to visit my grandmother in the hospital, one of my closest and dearest friends passed away on FEB 1st of this year.   She was like a second mother to me and her family became my family.  Her smile would light up a room and she had no enemies.   She lived in the same area I did, went to the same church and always encouraged to keep believing upon the Lord, as well as advising me to be my best by renewing my thinking.   She was selfless and courageous.   I cried so much during the week over knowing that she will not be at church, she will no longer answer the phone when I call, and I will not be able to feel her hugging me, embracing me with her warmth and compassion.   But she is in heaven with the Lord, consumed by His love and grace.  She is no longer hurting or suffering.   She is healed, whole and still smiling from above.
When she was on this earth she was always giving and sacrificed for the benefit of her children, husband and others.   She was always proud of her family – it was the most important thing to her.   Her last words: “God doesn’t lie…” still rings in my ear.   Even though all I have now are memories of the good times I had with her and her family, may see the occasional tears of myself and others, and continue to pray for the family left behind – I’ll always remember, “God doesn’t lie,”  even though things get tough or things don’t go our way… God still heals, He is still just and He is LOVE.  Lord please help me become less selfish and more selfless…Amen!
